“Some places stay with us long after we’ve left them.”
When I painted Echoes of the Valley, I wasn’t trying to capture one particular landscape. I was thinking about the places we remember, the curve of a distant hill, a road disappearing into the distance, or a view that somehow felt like home.
I built the landscape in layers, letting some areas remain loose and undefined because memory works that way too. We don’t always remember every detail, but we remember how a place made us feel.
That feeling of familiarity is what I wanted to leave in this painting—a landscape you may have never visited, yet somehow feel you know.
